Drafting is a writing application for Android built around the absence of features rather than the presence of them. It suits quick notes, outlines, and longer drafts where the intention is to write rather than to arrange.
The interface is plain by design and the customisation available is limited to the things that affect reading rather than the things that affect structure, so themes and text size are adjustable while the layout is not. Markdown style formatting is supported, which means a document acquires headings, emphasis, and lists without any of it being hidden behind a toolbar, and the text remains readable in its raw form. The organisational model is deliberately shallow, so notes are found by looking rather than by navigating a hierarchy that has to be maintained. That constraint is the point of the application, since the effort spent categorising notes is effort not spent writing them, and a plain document that is easy to search is more durable than a structured one that depends on the structure being kept accurate.
It is the wrong tool for anyone who wants linked notes, tagging, or a knowledge base, and it makes no attempt to be one. What it does is get out of the way, which is a narrow objective and one it meets.
